Cryptosphere Systems was founded by three Ph
D
graduates who believed it was possible to have fun, change the world, and make money
So far they seem to be right
We provide services around cryptocurrencies
The tech stack is pretty standard – Django and React, with GitLab for tracking issues, code reviews, etc
It’s the cryptocurrency part that’s exciting: communication with wallets, daemons, and other crypto APIs
In a super secure manner, because we are dealing with other people’s money!
We could even say that the tech stack is secondary
We are looking for sharp people, who are capable of learning how to deal with the inherent complexity of crypto
We haven’t touched the blockchain itself yet, but things like block confirmations or transaction fees are our daily bread (don’t worry, we’ll teach you)
Even though Cryptosphere Systems is a fully remote company, we understand the importance of looking after our employees
We do care about your long-term happiness, opportunity to grow, and of course, we want to know the personality behind the keyboard, too
We get together roughly every two months for regular hackathons in different cities in Europe
We are looking for full-time employees only!
Required experience
- Python
- Writing and using APIs (REST)
- Unit testing
- JavaScript (HTML, CSS) – you’ll do some frontend integration work
- Git
Preferred experience
- Django
- Some exposure to cryptocurrencies
- Frontend web development
- ReactJS
- Docker
- The broader ecosystem – devops, networking, and development tools like GitLab
Remote work
- To be happy here, you need to thrive on working independently
- You need to be great at time management
Remote work is not for everyone! - Fluent spoken English is fundamental – your English needs to be good enough that our calls are not painful
- And, of course, you must not be afraid of the phone
- For legal and timezone reasons we are only interested in candidates from the EU
Interview process
We’ll start with an introduction call
It takes about ten minutes, just to see if we are aligned at the high level
The second step is the technical interview
This call is about one hour long, and we dig deeper into your previous experience, talk about technologies we use, and we try some live coding together, too
The third call is about the financials (we try to be competitive in your area)
Provided that we are happy with each other during the first three calls, we’ll ask you to work on a kind of a homework coding challenge
That’s quite standard with remote companies, but at Cryptosphere, we do it differently
First, every candidate gets a new one, and we try to make it something useful, that could be turned into a real product eventually
We hope this makes it attractive for you, too
Second, we expect it to take about 10-20 hours, which we understand is a significant investment on your part; so we offer to pay for the time you spend working on this
Third, you’d be pushing code to our GitLab, we’d be exchanging e-mails, and maybe some calls – pretty much like the work would eventually look like
The last step is a call with the founders of Cryptosphere Systems that you haven’t met yet
