We are looking for a Technical Analyst to help us build and run HSBC’s online banking services, helping us move away from the monolithic architectures of the past to a new microservices platform
 You will be part of a cross functional product team delivering products into production in ever shortening cycles and helping to drive the continuous improvement of our processes, tooling and engineering practices

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be responsible for producing detailed technical designs across the full stack that are robust, scalable and reusable and deliver the exceptional user experience driven by the product teams
  • Actively drive the team to improve their CI/CD engineering practices with focus on eliminating waste and manual processes
  • Design visuals that give automated real time feedback on KPIs to a variety of stakeholders across a range of media
  • Help the team understand and meet the non-functional requirements required for delivery of a product to customers
  • Keen to collaborate with others, and you’ll give thought about how software fits into the bigger picture
  • Experienced with a range of agile practices and understand how and why they work
  • Willing and able to learn and adapt to new technologies and disciplines as and when needed
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

Technical Skills

 Be familiar with the majority, and expert in some of the following:

  •  Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Experience of creating good quality visuals/artifacts conveying information clearly together with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience of building ‘mobile first’, responsive, adaptive single page applications (essential)
  • Experience of using cloud based services with supporting tooling AWS / Terraform (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of Agile & Devops practices, CD/CI pipelines (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization practices, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, etc
    (desirable)
  • Good knowledge of API best practices, API design, REST and standards like JSON (desirable)
  • Tooling – Jira, Confluence, Slack
    Jenkins, Splunk, Appdynamics
    (desirable)
  • Financial services experience beneficial
