Description:
We are looking for a senior engineer that understands the benefits and risks of distributed systems
You want to solve problems that do not have cut & paste solutions from Stack Overflow
You can expound on the CAP theorem and know which tools lay where within it
You write clean, idiomatic, testable code
And you would never admit that your hat is any color other than white… right?
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should be a passionate, self-directed, team player with experience working in agile and a willingness to work and learn in a collaborative environment
To be successful, you should have experience in the following areas:
- 5+ years of experience in Java, Scala, Clojure or other JVM environments
- Distributed Systems, Actor or STM
- Spark and Hadoop (HDFS)
- Cassandra
- Kafka and Kafka Streams
- Mesos, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar
- Git (we use GitHub) and peer reviews
- Self-organiser with excellent communication skills
- Agile exposure
- Willing to fire up a Jupyter notebook every now and then
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of cryptocurrencies at a technical level
- Working knowledge of regulatory compliance within the cryptocurrency sector
