Cudo is a Bournemouth based, blockchain compute ethical innovation company
We are developing distributed computing and blockchain solutions that make a positive impact on the world we live in
Our initial software is changing the global cloud computing market, facilitating new greener IT, enabling anyone to monetise their hardware and raising substantial funds from spare IT capacity
We are undergoing a sustained period of growth and are looking to recruit a Software Development Manager to spearhead our development team of eight
You’ll be joining a team of 15+, working from our modern head office location in Central Bournemouth, 5 minutes’ walk from the train/bus station and to the beach
Your New Role
Cudo is a well funded startup business with enormous ambition comprised of developers, techies and entrepreneurs
As a member of the management team you’ll play a crucial role in building a business with a real mission, helping take us from start-up to major player
The ethos in the team is to challenge accepted norms and to build amazing products, including working on building a distributed computing platform using the Ethereum OS
You will have overall stewardship of the team, be responsible for introducing development methodologies and software best practice, selecting appropriate tools and technologies, running code reviews and hiring other bright individuals to join your team

There is a real buzz and energy in the team but every good manager needs the right motivational makeup to channel that energy towards deliverables
You’ll work at the architecture level on high level designs/proof of concepts/strategy and will have an ability to communicate these to business people and to techies in equal measure
With this in mind and given the size of the business it’s expected that you’ll not be completely removed from the code and will wish to offer hands-on contributions to projects at times
What you’ll need to succeed
Our key areas of focus moving forward are distributed computing, blockchain and cryptocurrency, and whilst you don’t need these from day one, an interest in this space and a commitment to open source and the shared economy will be intrinsic to our goals
You must have previous experience leading a development team and will have successfully used modern software approaches and methodologies (Agile/DevOps) as part of your role
A positive mindset, flexible “can do” attitude, ability to create innovative solutions, and strong organisational skills will allow you to fit our culture
The development stack that sits underneath this includes JavaScript, React, Vue, Node, Electron, C++, Bash, Redis, MySQL and Git
You should have experience with DevOps and will have exposure to microservices/containers (Docker/Kubernetes)
Good experience with any cloud platform will be of interest, though Google Cloud (Storage, Build, IoT Core) will make you a standout candidate
