The role

This is a senior-level role
Focusing on platform IAC with team leadership and coaching

Responsibilities

  • Leading the platform team to maintain and grow the infrastructure
  • Code reviews of other team members
  • Involved in planning and design meetings
  • Lead docking the platform and application into alternative clouds from AWS
  • Review plan and implement DR processes
  • Manage team availability and cross training of technologies
  • Implement DLT Node resilience

Key skills

  • Experience in Linux (Alpine/Ubuntu), Docker, Kubernetes, AWS (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, ELB), Jenkins, Jenkins X, Helm, IAC
  • AWS Devops Engineer or AWS Solutions Architect certified
  • AWS or Oracle certified
    (AWS Devops Engineer/Solutions Architect)
    (Oracle Certified Master (OCM), PaaS or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
  • Inter-site/cloud/on-prem networking configuration (including use and configuration of IPSEC over VPN)
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment processes and working on both greenfield and existing architectures (including strong Git, GitHub experience)
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of security and disaster recovery best practices for enterprise grade solutions
  • 5+ years commercial experience of DevOps/Infrastructure engineering (preferably in financially regulated businesses such as the Banking or Insurance market)
  • Ability to rapidly understand & document an existing process and provide actionable improvements in the short and medium term

Personal strengths 

  • Knowledge of at least one of: R3 Corda/Hyper Ledger Fabric/Ethereum and/or demonstratable interest in DLT/Blockchain or related technologies and business applications
  • Knowledge of any of RabbitMq, EMS, Kafka, MongoDB/Stitch
  • Exposure to test-driven and behaviour-driven development, test automation, secure by design approach

At Quant, you’ll join a highly engaged and motivated Engineering department, working in one of the most genuinely exciting – and challenging – areas of technology today
Currently, our small teams are 100% remote (temporarily due to Covid-19) and employ high-quality and meticulous Agile practices and iterative development
All of our developers are intellectually agile, inquisitive and curious, love a challenge,  are instinctive collaborators and love to continuously develop their skills

The technology and tools you will be using

Tools: Helm, Git, Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, Postman, Clubhouse and Miro

Tech Stack: Spring Boot, Java, JS, NodeJS , PHP and VueJS

Platform: Kubernetes, AWS, Oracle

Databases: Mongo and Postgres, amongst others
