Head of QA (Remote – Work from Anywhere)

Position overview

We’re looking for a Head of Quality Assurance to provide support to teams around testing best practices and what and how to test at each stage of the development life-cycle
As the capability matures, we may look to engage with specialists in specific non-functional areas ( Penetration, Security, Performance, Load, Accessibility etc
)
 

Although we are headquartered in Gibraltar, this is a full time, 100% remote position
Work from anywhere!

Responsibilities

• You will work with the CTO and Director of Engineering to lead the design and implementation of the Xapo Testing Framework
  This will cover applications and web front ends, our core services and integrations to 3rd parties
   
• You will implement tooling and processes to ensure teams can build coherent test suites at each stage of the development life-cycle in every environment
   
• Strategies and Processes will be optimised around fast feedback and transparency to business stakeholders
   
• While automated testing is a critical part of our strategy, it’s important that we also cater for exploratory testing
  You will use data driven methods to determine where to focus testing, particularly around customer facing interactions
   
• You will ensure xapo complies with regulatory requirements
  

Skills needed

• Experience of both functional and non-functional testing across web and mobile applications and backend services
• Has supported and advocated for the use of TDD, BDD, and SBE
• Significant experience integrating with 3rd Party providers and designing resilient and repeatable testing suites
• A solid technical background and expert in CI/CD and testing automation techniques
• Has provided coaching and mentoring to development teams around testing best practices
• Has designed and implemented test strategies and standards and successfully communicated them across a technology organisation
  
• Has managed Testing Leads and Engineers and supported their career growth and development
• Stays abreast of current technology and testing developments and has demonstrated the ability to retain competitive advantage by implementing relevant technologies in software products
