About the Galaxy NYC Infrastructure Summer Internship Program:
The Galaxy NYC Summer Internship Program is an immersive and exciting, nine-week experience taking place on-site in our headquarters
During the nine weeks, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical work experience on our Infrastructure team
In addition to learning on the job, Galaxy interns participate in professional development programming, fun social events, and networking opportunities with senior leaders
Our Infrastructure team is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer Intern to join their group this summer
As an Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure
Depending on your team assignment, you may assist in tasks ranging from maintaining proof-of-stake validators, learning about Bitcoin mining, supporting trading teams, or contributing to CI/CD pipelines and observability efforts
Your contributions and exposure to cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and observability will be valuable in shaping the success of our technology stacks
Program Dates: June 10th – August 9th, 2024
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to contribute to the design, maintenance, and security of our infrastructure
- Assist in identifying and implementing enhancements in infrastructure, monitoring, and incident response processes
- Learn to use and manage observability and monitoring tools to ensure the stability and performance of our systems
- Gain experience in developing and maintaining automation scripts to streamline deployment and recovery processes
- Participate in tasks related to cloud components, virtualization technologies, and other technical areas
- Learn about implementing security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and network security
- Gain exposure to on-call rotations to contribute to the reliability of our services
- Keep abreast of emerging trends in the web3/blockchain space through research and learning
What We’re Looking For:
- General knowledge of the cryptocurrency ecosystem
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Enthusiasm for learning about Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps practices
- Strong interest in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMWare, Docker)
- Basic familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) and curiosity about infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef)
- Interest in understanding monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Undergraduate or master’s students graduating between December 2024 and June 2025
- Eligible master’s students must have fewer than two years of relevant, full-time work experience
- Students enrolled in PhD, MBA, or JD programs are not eligible to apply
