The BSA Transaction Monitoring Consultant will be responsible for assisting the Financial Crime Investigations Program Lead in ensuring the high quality, accuracy and execution of Anchorage Digital’s Transaction Monitoring Program
Additionally, they will be responsible for managing a team of Transaction Monitoring Associates and ensuring the integrity of the program is moving in a positive direction
Please note that this is a temporary role (not full time)


As a BSA Transaction Monitoring Consultant you will:

    • Drive the team in execution of transaction and sanctions alert dispositioning 
    • Assist the Financial Crime Investigations Program Lead on building out the Transaction Monitoring Program, which include but is not limited to: 
    • Oversee the AML Compliance Team’s digital asset and fiat monitoring alert reviews;
    • Act as key contact with system vendors to confirm the operations and customization of applicable third-party systems are appropriately tailored to Anchorage’s risk profile;
    • Update Policy and Procedures for Transaction Monitoring functions; 
    • Work with the Transaction Monitoring Team to create and update desktop procedures and process enhancements for transaction monitoring functions;
    • Conduct monthly quality control reviews of dispositioned digital asset alerts in TRM
    • Perform TRM risk engine configuration reconciliation and user access permissions;
    • Review monthly metrics of all transaction monitoring functions;
    • Conduct ongoing staff training and providing team support;
    • Review rule typologies to determine if additional rules/typologies should be adjusted or may be warranted; and
    • Review and approve new or adjustments to digital asset and fiat transaction monitoring thresholds;
    • Drive internal discussions with stakeholders to facilitate the relevant Transaction Monitoring projects

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

    • 5+ years of experience in BSA/AML transactional review and/or sanctions alert dispositioning for institutional clients
    • Knowledge of BSA/AML and Sanctions regulations
    • Expertise in using blockchain analytics tools to disposition transaction monitoring alerts, preferably at a bank
    • A passion for building out programs in early stages, including the creation and maintenance of policies, procedures, and new tools
    • A proven track of being able to work both independently and support a team
    • Strong attention to detail, a high degree of curiosity, and are a fast learner

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

    • You have expertise in data analytics and/or excel pivots/formulas for data analysis
    • You find yourself utilizing block explorers in your personal or professional life
    • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system
