π» About the role:
This is a key hire for the Safe Leadership team, taking C-level ownership of all internal operations and ensuring our various functions all operate as one successful unit
Over time the involvement in strategic decisions will be increased in order to directly influence the future of Safe
The role will report directly to the founders and sit alongside the CFO of Safe
This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned leader with a strong interest in decentralized solutions to make an impact at the center of the Ethereum ecosystem
ποΈ What you will be doing:

Process Improvement and Alignment
-
Oversee and improve processes within different teams as well as cross-team processes
-
Create standards for team interactions
-
Evaluate and improve meeting efficiency across the organization
-
Coordinating OKRs across all teams
-
Create and track a single dashboard for all teams OKR
-

Focus the team on driving value for the project and heuristics for adjusting/cutting activities that aren’t contributing to our long-term goals
-
Maintain an overview of the wider picture (between teams and outwards towards the market) to ensure that we’re best allocating our time and resources to sustainably grow Safe
Organisational structure and Reporting:
-
Work on the ideal structure for Safe, including both Safe Ecosystem Foundation (SEF) and Core Contributors
-
Evaluate ideal team structures in order to achieve operational effectiveness, improve collaboration and resource efficiency
-

Organizational design; evaluate entity structures and balance different requirements towards corporate structure, entity forms, entity relationships, etc
-
Drive change management (eg transition from start-up/ early stage to growth stage)
-
Support the creation of an energetic and healthy project culture
-
Lead hiring efforts and develop internal policies
-
-
Create external facing reports and coordinate with different departments on better reporting of impact
-
Placement as a coordination point between departments and reporting to other senior management members on all things requiring their attention
Collaboration with other departments:
-
Resourcing/Finance – Map spend vs impact
-
Provide financial perspective on team size, growth, and benchmark against revenue (future) and other teams of other crypto projects
-
Collaboration with the People team on hiring operations and talent strategies
-
Streamline processes for legal, comms, and team considerations for HR-related decisions including hiring, reassignments, resignations/terminations etc

Signing off / pushing back on org-wide and team-wide hiring
People management of executive assistant, HR lead(s), potentially more

π What you will bring:
-
Experience managing direct and cross-functional teams (cross-border teams)
-
Worked as COO or Operations Lead before
-
6+ years of operations experience
-
Extensive leadership experience in scaling a start-up project
-
Has worked in a company > with 100 people
-

Ability to own projects end-to-end, including setting the initial vision, driving execution, and reporting on the ultimate outcomes
-
Must be able to solve problems and make tough decisions using a combination of data and intuition
-

Strong HR, business, and finance acumen and the ability to successfully drive simultaneous projects with efficacy
-
Ability to work directly with senior team members (eg influencer) and advocate for and take feedback on key initiatives
-
Good understanding of legal, HR, and finance so they donβt have to involve a lawyer for basic legal questions

Pragmatic leader; knows when to get into details and when to just decide
-
Needs to be German-speaking due to the fact that SEF and CC are in German-speaking countries
-
Basic understanding of HR, finance, legal, tech, product (by no means they have to be an expert in all areas, but we need a generalist with some basic knowledge or at least the ability to gain the required knowledge)

Knowledge of different ways to structure teams and an organization

Has an opinion on when to apply which structure

Knows how to communicate and implement organizational changes
β Nice to have:

Experience with operations of a Swiss foundation (particularly ESA reporting)

Experience with crypto projects ( operations should involve the community to a certain extent)
