The Polygon legal department provides advice and counsel to Polygon’s business and product units in the evolving landscape of the blockchain space, including legal counsel on corporate, regulatory, employment, compliance, and litigation matters

RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial agreements with companies in the blockchain space
    • Advise the business and product teams on any legal issue they may face, including IP issues, consumer protection issues, employment issues, compliance issues, or any other legal issue commonly faced in the blockchain space
    • Coordinate with outside counsel to secure appropriate advice, and coordinate fact investigations within the company to have an appropriate appreciation of the technology and business functions at issue
    • Assist with managing international corporate governance in several jurisdictions both within and outside of the United States

Basic Qualifications

    • J
      D
      degree and admission to at least one state bar
    • 5+ years of experience at a reputable law firm and/or in-house
    • Demonstrated experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial contracts
    • Effective organizational and time-management skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects spanning across different subject matters

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience advising clients in structuring complex commercial transactions, with a strong eye toward mitigating risk to the client
    • Experience with license agreements and other commercial transactions relating to intellectual property
    • Legal experience in some facet of law relating to blockchain and cryptocurrency space preferred, but not required
    • Versatility and eagerness to tackle any legal issues that may arise in a relatively uncertain and evolving legal landscape
