To ensure Kraken is the right fit for you, please ensure you read to find out more about us!The Sanctions Manager is a critical leadership position where you will be responsible for a global team of Sanctions Specialists, managing all aspects of the sanctions program in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidance and expectations

Responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain all aspects of the sanctions program in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory guidance and expectations, as well as the Kraken policies and procedures
    • Oversee a team of compliance personnel dedicated to Kraken’s sanctions program
    • Assist with the company’s annual sanctions risk assessment
    • Continued assessment and maintenance of the watchlist screening tools
    • Identify areas of risk and work with various departments to identify control gaps, provide remediation and work on implementation
    • Prepare periodic MIS reports for Senior Management
    • Prepare regulatory reporting such as OFAC Annual Blocked Property Report, OFAC Block Reports, OFAC Reject Reports and Voluntary Self Disclosures
    • Coordinate and provide materials for internal and external audits and examinations
    • Participate in special projects in support of global sanctions compliance
    • Development and implement action plans for remediation items
    • Participate in risk assessments to identify sanctions risks related to new products and services

Requirements:

    • 10 years experience in a sanctions role
    • 2 years experience in a supervisory/managerial role
    • Bachelor’s degree – Advanced degree a plus
    • CGSS Certification or equivalent
    • Deep experience with OFAC, international sanction regimes, sanctions reporting requirements, watchlist screening requirements, and technologies and systems utilized
    • Executive level communication and organizational skills
    • Experience managing regulatory exams and audits
    • Proven track record and experience working with, and technical implementations of, watchlist screening vendors
    • Deep familiarity with sanctions regulatory requirements in Europe and US, and other jurisdictions
    • Demonstrated ability to author detailed business requirements and effectively communicate with engineering/technology teams
    • Prior success in project management and driving cross functional teams to execute and deliver on strategically important initiatives
    • Quantitative analysis and decision making
