Solidity Smart Contract Engineer

The Role

Alchemy is building out distributed protocols to augment our developer platform. As one of our first smart contract engineers you will be architecting and building those protocols, and setting the bar for highly readable, optimized, and secure code backed by a comprehensive test suite. You’ll be responsible for bringing the same level of security, speed, and stability as our existing platform to our distributed efforts. As they augment our existing developer platform, the contracts you build will quickly become a platform for thousands of teams and millions of users globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Architecture and design of distributed protocols with an emphasis on security, performance, and scalability
  • Write, deploy, and test smart contracts and maintain them in production
  • Develop and own best practices for protocol upgrades and versioning across different networks
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and design on the user-facing applications built around our smart contract protocols
  • Mentor other engineers in in-depth Solidity/EVM topics and best practices

Software Engineer (DevOps)

The Role

As an engineer focused on DevOps and infrastructure at Alchemy, you’ll be working with the wider engineering team on the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of the infrastructure that supports our developer platform used globally. You’ll architect state of the art solutions for managing complex backend systems and leverage your experience to create a highly available live system for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Dual focus on developer productivity and product reliability
  • Improve important infrastructure and systems from an operational standpoint (i.e. deployment, logging, monitoring, alerting, etc.)
  • Work with engineering to architect a migration from ECS to Kubernetes on EKS
  • Develop and own best practices for managing production infrastructure: provisioning, application scaling, configuration management, capacity planning, monitoring, etc

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the leader of all operational and technical accounting, reporting, and audit functions for the organization.
  • Build and evolve a platform-type set of accounting, tax, audit, reporting, and other services to deliver to MetricsDAO and other DAOs via a service agreement.
  • Serve as the leader of the effort to build internal knowledge of the evolving digital asset accounting space, including technical accounting and tax topics, including cross-border issues.
  • Lead the effort to maintain and evolve transfer pricing, service agreements, royalty rates, and other critical documents in the relationship between Flipside, MDAO, and other DAOs.
  • Manage all 3rd party relationships related to tax, technical accounting, and other advisors.
  • Lead all accounting operations including billing, AR, AP, GL, cost accounting and revenue recognition.
  • Enhance our financial processes and policies to drive improvement as Flipside continues rapid growth.
  • Maintain financial security by designing and maintaining internal controls.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process for all financial statements, including reporting to investors.
  • Support all efforts related to financial due diligence, finance Board decks and other communications with investors.
  • Jump in on a variety of other ad-hoc projects and analyses, as needed by the CFO and other exec team members.

Requirements

  • Overall 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance leadership roles.
  • CPA or CMA required; other professional credentials also helpful.
  • Ideal candidates may also have experience in fund accounting covering both hedge funds and venture funds within an investment management firm, a third party administrator, or accounting firm.
  • Experience managing transfer pricing, royalty, licensing, service agreements, and related accounting topics and processes.
  • Experience managing internal and external audit processes.
  • Experience evaluating and selecting software and tooling for accounting, tax, audit, and other processes, especially specialized tools for digital assets.

  • Experience in an earlier-stage start-up a must; experience in strategy or operations consulting a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline tools, especially those that are light-touch and can be self-serviced by you.
  • Strong experience in creating Excel models and manipulating data, SQL and Tableau experience is a plus.

Sr. Data Strategist, Corporate Data

The Data Engineering and Architecture (DEA) team is responsible for unlocking the value in Chainalysis’ corporate data. We work with internal stakeholders in HR, Business Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing as well as partners in Business Technology and Core Engineering to ship data solutions that are trusted, reliable, mature and transformative. Our goal is to accelerate Chainalysis’ growth and empower our employees to do their best work. 

The Sr. Data Strategist will play an outsized role in enabling Chainalysis’ ability to attract and retain customers who value the expert stewardship of corporate data. They will do this by establishing and implementing corporate data standards, governance systems and processes that are compliant with Chainalysis’ InfoSec and data privacy guidelines. They will also take the lead in documenting and maintaining business system data schemas, lineage and flows throughout Chainalysis’ Business Technology ecosystems and data infrastructure. Finally, they will be responsible for working with activation stakeholders to understand how corporate data in the data warehouse will be consumed for a variety of use cases. This work will require close partnership with Data Engineers in both DEA and in R&D to align data warehouse architecture with business systems and data activation use cases like analytics and business automation. 

The ideal candidate will have worked closely with Data Engineering partners and Business Systems stakeholders to empower business leaders and users by delivering solutions that help them make decisions and perform their work more efficiently. They have held past roles as a client-facing data strategist or analyst responsible for driving the technical aspects of end-to-end data solutions. They will have past experience implementing Privacy or InfoSec requirements into a corporate data architecture.This role is open to remote candidates in the United States, with a preference for New York-based candidates who will join the team in our HQ either full-time or in a hub model.

  • Working with data and integration engineers to build end-to-end data solutions that include acquisition, transformation and activation
  • Familiarity with data governance tools like Collibra and Alation 
  • Experience in an Agile-like environment that includes user stories, sprints, grooming and retrospectives
  • Performing root cause analysis on integration and automation errors to identify data quality issues
  • Familiarity with common enterprise business systems like Salesforce, Workday and NetSuite

The base salary range for this role is $127K to 167K on a national basis and may be higher or lower depending on the location of the role. Base salary is just one part of our total rewards package which additionally includes equity, performance bonus or commissions for eligible roles, and competitive benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, relevant work experience, skillset, internal equity, and other factors, consistent with applicable law.
