JAVA BACKEND DEVELOPER

As a Java Backend Developer at Authenteq, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Authenteq backend and API for our mobile applications. Your primary focus will be the development of such applications and their integration with other back-end services. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and creating quality products is essential.

Your role

•  Design and build API’s for our mobile applications.
•  Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of our backend servers
•  Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features.
•  Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
•  Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization.
•  Interface with product managers, developers, engineering managers, and stakeholders to prioritize problem resolution and ensure release readiness.
•  Become an expert on our products and their use from a customer perspective to ensure a positive end-user experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Support our externally-facing data APIs and applications built on top of them
• Build systems and services that abstract the engines and will allow the users to focus on business and application logic via higher level programming models
• Improve and maintain data pipelines and tools to keep pace with the growth of our data and its consumers
• Identify and analyze requirements and use cases from multiple internal teams (including finance, compliance, analytics, data science, and engineering); work with other technical leads to design solutions for the requirements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: 

• Deep experience with distributed systems, distributed data stores, data pipelines and other tools in cloud services environments (e.g AWS, GCP)
• Experience with distributed processing compute engines like Hadoop, Spark, and/or GCP data ecosystems

About The Role:

• Develop various aspects of the Swirlds and Hedera Hashgraph Platform.
• Develop sample applications to demonstrate value and strength of the platform. Sample applications will include web, mobile and embedded development.
• Assist 3rd party developers in the development of a wide range of applications based on the Swirlds and Hedera platform, including financial transactions, gaming and database applications.
• Be a strong and proficient hands-on programmer, spending 80% of your time coding.

Skills Needed:

• Strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals including concurrency, performance optimization and reusability

• Previous responsibility for project implementation, planning, monitoring and preparation of reports for the CTO;
