About the role:

You’ll be based in GemFair’s Oxford Circus office, owning the development of mobile products including the app that miners use to register artisanal diamonds from the mines. GemFair has piloted in Sierra Leone as of this quarter and will be more than doubling the amount of mines using the app by the end of the year. As an early employee in the venture, you’ll be making strategic decisions and shaping the direction of the technical stack, as well as shaping the culture of the company. 

Responsibilities: 

• Lead the development of our Android tablet app
• Develop a robust offline first expeirence
• Improve our build process and deployment
• Collaborate with a team of engineers, designers and key individuals so we deliver empowering user experiences

• Experience designing/building offline-first mobile applications is desirable 

Requirements: 

• Good experience as a mobile or web interface developer

What you’ll be doing:

·        Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing AWS/Azure cloud-based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions system.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Full-stack developer to join our growing tech team. As a Full-stack developer you will be helping to re-build our portal from scratch, to firstly ensure that we are making the most of our current features (i.e. making them more powerful) and implementing new features e.g. new dashboard, Rota Planner.

You will also be expected to help out with devops as we are a relatively small dev team. You will be reporting directly into the CEO/COO and helping mentor and manage our current backend developer. The role is likely to progress as we grow – for the right person there could be an opportunity to progress into more of a management position as we look to build out our tech function, and start to introduce cutting-edge tech such as blockchain, AI and machine learning.

As a Technical Documentation Writer, you will work closely with our global team to create and maintain content that enables our users to do amazing things with Radix. You will work with product managers, developers, quality engineers, developer advocates, technical support, and marketing to create content that not only provides useful information but also serves to enhance the overall user experience.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Interview project team members, subject matter experts, customers, and product support to determine required technical and user information.

Responsibilities

Develop Request Network apps, libraries, and websites

Help educating our community about how to build on Request

Contribute to a decentralized payment protocol built on the blockchain

Qualifications

Passionate about creating and releasing projects, as well as learning new languages – Be able to identify relations between parts of complex projects

Hold a Master’s in computer science or an equivalent field (STEM)
