Who You Are:

As the world of finance continues to evolve, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regulatory Compliance Specialist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, EMEA, and play a crucial role in ensuring our firm’s compliance with global regulatory standards and industry best practices.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and maintain our Compliance Monitoring Program including to reflect developing regulatory guidance and industry best practices.
• Continuously monitor and analyse EMEA regulatory developments in the crypto & digital asset space to ensure the firm remains compliant and informed of changes.
• Collaborate across departments to develop and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures to ensure a coordinated approach to compliance.
• Maintain ongoing risk assessments and 2nd LoD audits of the firm’s activities to identify potential compliance gaps and mitigate risks.
• Provide ongoing training and guidance to employees on compliance matters to ensure a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Be a standard-bearer for a positive compliance culture and work with the business to achieve best-in-class compliance outcomes.
• Manage relationships with, and prepare and submit regular and ad hoc compliance reports to senior management, regulators, and other appropriate stakeholders as required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Demonstrable ability to operate in highly performant environments. Whilst a degree is not a pre-requisite experience of applying academic rigour to your work is essential. Demonstrating an ongoing desire to learn in parallel with your career (via continued education or through relevant professional certification) is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in front office compliance or compliance advisory with some experience in digital assets. Previous SMF experience desirable.
• A deep understanding of UK and EU cryptoasset regulations. Knowledge of other relevant international regulatory frameworks (UAE, HK, Singapore, US, FATF) preferable.
• Demonstrable experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance policies and procedures in a complex, fast-paced environment including through periods of regulatory change.
• Experience in drafting regulatory and compliance policy is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts to a diverse audience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

We are currently seeking an experienced Legal & Compliance team member, reporting to the General Counsel, to join the oversight team for our regional business lines and help steer our global compliance function.

What You’ll Do:

• Continuous development of regulatory strategies, policies, and procedures for cryptoasset activities in the APAC region across trading, investment banking, and asset management, including managing regulatory change and uncertainty.
• Advise on, and monitor firm compliance with, relevant regulations, international guidelines, and industry best practices across all business lines, including cryptoassets.
• Act as legal counsel and primary resource for the Hong Kong office on local matters, including governance, employment and general corporate matters.
• Conduct ongoing monitoring of the firm’s activities to identify potential risks and develop appropriate mitigating measures.
• Document negotiation relating to current and future counterparty engagements (MLA, ISDA, etc).
• Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance matters related to cryptoassets and ensure they are well-informed regarding relevant regulatory requirements and changes.
• Liaise with SFC and other regulatory authorities on relevant matters.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including legal, risk, and technology teams to maintain a robust and up-to-date compliance framework for cryptoasset activities.
• Conduct periodic compliance reviews and risk assessments and prepare Senior Management/regulatory reports.
• Keep abreast of new regulations and industry trends in the cryptoasset space and make recommendations to the management on necessary enhancements to the firm’s compliance framework.

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in Law is required with five to eight years of PQE experience in the area of financial services. A degree in Finance, Economics or other advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., ACAMS, ICA, CFE) is highly desirable.
• Experience in compliance or regulatory affairs, with a demonstrable understanding of SFC and MAS regulatory frameworks including in relation to cryptoassets. Knowledge of other relevant international regulatory frameworks (HK, US, FATF) preferable.
• In-house experience providing legal advice on general corporate matters in the region.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks governing the cross-border distribution of financial products within the APAC region.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology, digital assets, and the cryptoasset ecosystem.
• Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance policies and procedures in a complex environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex regulatory concepts to a diverse audience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

About the team:

The Compensation & Benefits Manager will be a key part of our People Ops Team, reporting directly into the Director of People Ops. The C&B manager will play a pivotal role in shaping People Policy through the lens of designing and building our total rewards model.

• You’ll evaluate our existing programmes, policies and procedures, with a view to making immediate improvements, before commencing work on designing a new paradigm for C&B.

• You’ll ensure that all C&B frameworks are compliant with local legislation, no matter the country in which team members are based. 

About you:

• You hold a university degree, ideally (but not essential) in a business or HR-related discipline. 
• You have at least 5 years worth of experience in a HR position, with a minimum of 2 years as a C&B specialist.
• You have experience of a complete build of an international C&B model, including bonus programmes and novel incentive structures (RSU, options, VSOP etc). Familiarity with token-based incentive structures, especially desirable. 
• You possess relevant certifications, such as a CEBS, SHRM or comparable.
• You have extensive international knowledge of benefits and compensation programs, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation in multiple jurisdictions is required.  UK and/or Germany will be required as a foundation base, enhanced with experience of other countries.
• Your English is C1 level as a minimum, with excellent written skills,
• You are proficient in Google Suite.
• You have experience of working with Project Management Tools, such as Asana or Trello. 
• Experience of working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
• Experience of working with PowerBi or other business analytical tools, is desirable.
• You’re excellent, but humble. A colleague who can inspire and influence through achievement.
• You possess excellent communication skills, irrespective of the stakeholder or setting.
• You have strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• You are comfortable in an ever-changing environment and therefore resilient..
