The Discipline ❤️Our engineering discipline builds the technology that enables MoonPay to learn quickly and scale easily. We organise in small cross-functional squads of 3-5 engineers and an embedded Product Manager, Product Designer and Product Data Analyst. What you’ll do 👀

  • Work in the widget team, helping build a core set of products.
  • Work with Product Managers to come up with the best solutions and implementation plans for new features or changes to existing ones.
  • Scale our systems to support our ever growing partner and consumer base. 
  • Contribute to the estimations, planning and execution of  projects, features, and integrations.
  • Integrate and work closely with external service providers to ensure smooth operation.
  • Maintain and improve our existing codebase.
  • Write fully tested, high quality and performant code on both backend and frontend.

As a Senior you will be expected to:

  • Mentor and coach Engineers.
  • Champion the writing of high quality code.

About the Parachains Team:

The Parachains Core team is responsible for implementing Polkadot’s Parachain consensus mechanism. This core team consists of 13 Rust engineers who are currently focused on topics like asynchronous backing, disputes, rolling out a new, “pay-as-you-go” parathread functionality to Polkadot, and hardening network security. About the position:

We’re hiring an experienced Technical Project Manager to join this team. The Project Manager will be embedded in the development team and will support the core engineers in the process of delivering key features to Polkadot’s Parachain functionality. This position will require a strategic, technically-minded approach to facilitate communication internally and externally within the ecosystem and support the development leadership with the process and people management. Due to Parity’s unique open-source culture, the ideal candidate will be more of a negotiator and mediator than a top-down strategist while being prone to feedback loop and willing to improve on it with critical thinking.   • Document and drive the roadmap, defining actions, risks and outcomes, prioritising tasks and managing the team’s resources, and identifying resource constraints and any other issues that arise

    • Create and modify libraries and abstractions to help with integrations on top of Polygon Avail 
    • Propose new solutions through technical and technical design documentation, finding and architecting the best ways to integrate 
    • Work directly with the Polygon Avail team to shape the technical direction of Avail.
    • Work with the Research team to find optimized solutions and implement them
    • Leverage soft skills and technical skills to manage stakeholder relationships both internal and external
    • Write, review, and ship production-quality code
    • Participate in knowledge sharing sessions, mentoring other team members on your area of expertise

Basic Qualifications

    • 3+ years as a software engineer shipping production-quality code
    • Experience programming in Go, Rust, Java, nodejs, or similar languages & frameworks
    • Experience working with and very good understanding of smart contracts written in Solidity
    • Very good understanding of optimistic rollups, zk proofs, and other technologies for scaling Ethereum smart contracts
    • Understanding of Validiums and of data availability challenges in distributed systems in general 
    • Ability to create functioning prototypes and PoCs that achieve specific business goals & validate specific functionality. Without overengineering.
    • Experience designing and architecting scalable software systems
    • Experience communicating to technical and non-technical audiences and working with stakeholders
    • Experience with Git or similar source control systems

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience building decentralized applications on Ethereum/Polygon (Solidity, , or , etc.)
    • Broad knowledge of ethereum scaling solutions and experience working with them
    • Broad knowledge of web3 technologies and blockchain ecosystem
    • Experience contributing to developer documentation or educational materials
