Specifically on high-regulated environments, such as where Anchorage operates, being able to prove, behind of a doubt, that employees took all the mandatory training is evermore relevant.There are a number of platforms/solutions on the market that provide this kind of service. Unfortunately, most of them are based on centralized systems. Trust on centralized systems is intrinsically related to the trust we deposit on the institution that owns/runs the platform and it’s not impossible to fake certifications / proof that someone took the course (and when).Goals:This dissertation aims to solve this problem by building a blockchain-based platform to seamlessly award badges and verify and track achievements. By using blockchain, this platform will provide, behind the shadow of a doubt, the ability to check when such a badge/recognition was awarded, in an irreversible and irrevocable manner.Innovation:Using blockchain technology for tracking and management of badges and training recognition paves a way forward to provide behind of a doubt records that can be publicly audited. Their development, QA, and release cycles are all bespoke. Anchorage Digital, being the leader in digital assets custody (among other things), needs to interact with these networks directly and reliably.  Because Anchorage does not control these environments (by design nobody controls them usually), we have to handle unexpected situations, such as failures in communication, backwards incompatible upgrades, forks, etc.Goal:The goal of this project is to bring the concept of “status page” to the blockchain. At Anchorage, and as we add support for more and more blockchains, we want to be able to easily and reliably assess the health status of a blockchain. This is the very first step when triaging any issues, and a very difficult one for the reasons mentioned.  Create an adequate abstraction of blockchain health checks. They may include, but are not limited to, block production, transaction processing rate, average fees, etc.  It is important to note that in order to make these checks reliable, you may have to develop interactions with multiple 3rd party APIs and websites in order to fetch the relevant information from multiple (redundant) sources.  Such abstraction needs to be extensible, so new health metrics can easily be added in the future.  Create health check adapters for blockchains currently supported by Anchorage. We are searching for a Devops engineer with strong networking experience to help the IT organization move to a more software defined networking model.  You’ll partner closely with our networking and system engineering teams to bring more infrastructure as code principles to the support of our global networks, which include Wifi services, VPN technologies,  and AWS services.

You will work closely with our Security Lead to improve smart contact security across the company. You will be creating software development lifecycle automations; fetching, processing and visualizing on-chain insights, integrating with various APIs; developing interfaces and security alerting for internal teams. You will be evaluating various security tools, developing Github actions for our CI/CD flows and improving our inventorization system (we are using ).

You don’t need to be a designer but you know what a good UX is and know how to put a few React MUI components neatly together. You don’t have to have prior security or blockchain experience — you will be working with the experts who will support you and your excellent software engineering background will be a great foundation to grow in this space.

This position provides room to grow and work at the Staff level of seniority: we are working horizontally across all development teams in the company, driving the technical governance for smart contracts and collaborating with a wide range of vendors and partners. Most of our work is open source and there is an opportunity to add value to and influence the wider blockchain community.

Qualifications

  • Excellent Typescript coding skills
