Unlock your career potential by working with a world class team, opportunities for permanent job placements, competitive salaries, and exciting cash prize competitions!

About Openmesh and Xnode

Today a handful of corporations control 90% of the world’s data and IT infrastructure and we are expected to trust them. This is not just bad for business; it’s bad for everyone. Information asymmetry has led to social inequality, scandals, polarization, and corruption. Sometimes, it has even led to war. Centralized data control acts as a potential chokepoint for innovation, raises privacy concerns, and creates a bottleneck for the free flow of data.

Openmesh is a cutting-edge new open-source cloud infrastructure and a global open data network aimed at storing important global data without a middleman. It is the largest open web3 data lake, covering approximately 80% of the entire crypto and web3 ecosystem today. In 2023 and 2024, we aim to expand our data coverage to include public health and scientific research data.

Openmesh enables anyone to create their own decentralized data cloud, connect globally, share data securely, slash deployment costs, and automate data cloud setup. The Openmesh Network is designed to collect, store, process, stream, and provide data connectivity for anyone, anywhere, anytime, without the need for registration, licensing, or payments. Think of Openmesh as the internet’s open data fabric. It grants universal access and prevents interferences created by regulators, governments, corporations, and even its own creators. The possibilities are endless.

Core Products

Our flagship product, Xnode, is an integral part of this vision, offering a revolutionary platform for developers to build decentralized data clouds. Xnode, enables developers to build their own decentralized data clouds with data connectivity, data APIs, and query & analytics engines in mere minutes, instead of weeks or months. They pay only for computing and storage, sidestepping licensing and setup fees. Xnode facilitates a 10-15 fold cost reduction in running and operating data clouds and can save over 95% of deployment time.

Pythia is a powerhouse analytics & query engine that transforms raw data into actionable insights. Pythia allows anyone to design, build, visualize, and deploy powerful data products.

Unified APIs provide a single endpoint for all crypto & web3 data, making it accessible to anyone, anywhere, without any costs. There are no licenses, registrations, or setup fees involved.

Our vision

Our vision is to democratize data and address information asymmetry at a scale. Data & information is the most valuable commodity in the world. Without quality, reliable data, all webpages, apps, and the entire internet will stop working. We believe access to reliable, unedited information is a fundamental right- an aspect of a free and democratic society. The Core Principles of Openmesh, by design, has no single authority that can alter its data, how the information is distributed or controlled, or who can see what and when. The infrastructure and entire technology stack is open-source and governed by an open-source community.

The opportunity

  • Leverage this paid internship opportunity to fulfill your PEP 40H industry experience requirement.
  • Learn groundbreaking innovations in Data, Cloud, Blockchain, AI, and Web3 Infrastructure from visionaries, senior engineers, product owners and discover what your dream job is really like.
  • You will be given access to our open source technology, hackathons, virtual conferences, mentoring sessions, R&D infrastructure, workshops, and an opportunity to observe and apply your knowledge in practice. You have the option to work in person or remotely. There is an upcoming hackathon on the 28th.
  • Career Progression – top-performing candidates will receive a full-time offer.
  • Gain on-the-job experience. You’ll be assigned a project that will develop your problem-solving skills, teach you how to present your ideas, work with a team, and think like a professional.
  • The specialized knowledge and skills you gain through the program will prepare you for a successful career at Openmesh.

Why Join Us

  • Lead a revolutionary product that is reshaping the landscape of data management and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with a global community of innovators and thought leaders in the decentralized space.
  • Make a significant impact on how data is accessed and utilized worldwide, promoting transparency, efficiency, and democratization.
  • Enjoy a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding work environment, along with competitive compensation and benefits.

Beyond academic skills, we are most interested in what makes you unique: the personal qualities, outside interests and achievements beyond university that demonstrate the kind of person you are and the difference you will bring to the team.

Head of Legal – Crypto

Who Are We?Obol Labs is a remote-first research and software development team focused on Proof of Stake infrastructure for public blockchain networks. Specific topics of focus are Internet Bonds, Distributed Validator Technology, and Multi-Operator Validation. The core team includes 28 members spread across +12 countries. The core team is building the Obol Network, a protocol to foster trust-minimized staking through multi-operator validation. This will enable low-trust access to Ethereum staking yield, which can be used as a core building block in various Web3 products. The NetworkThe network can be best visualized as a work layer that sits directly on top of the base layer consensus. This work layer is designed to provide the base layer with more resiliency and decentralization as it scales. In this chapter of Ethereum, we will move on to the next great scaling challenge, which is stake centralization. Layers like Obol are critical to the long-term viability and resiliency of public networks, especially networks like Ethereum.Obol as a layer is focused on scaling main chain staking by providing permissionless access to Distributed Validators. The network utilizes a middleware implementation of Distributed Validator Technology (DVT), to enable the operation of distributed validator clusters that can preserve validators' current client and remote signing configurations.Similar to how roll-up technology laid the foundation for L2 scaling implementations, we believe DVT will do the same for scaling the consensus layer while preserving decentralization. Staking infrastructure is entering its protocol phase of evolution, which must include trust-minimized staking networks that can be plugged into at scale. We believe DVT will evolve into a widely used primitive and will ensure the security, resiliency, and decentralization of public networks. The Obol Network develops and maintains four core public goods that will eventually work together through circular economics:The DV Launchpad, a User Interface for bootstrapping and managing Distributed ValidatorsCharon, a middleware Golang client that enables validators to run in a fault-tolerant, distributed mannerObol Managers, a set of solidity libraries for the formation of Distributed Validators tailored to different use cases such as DeFi, Liquid Staking, and Fractionalized Deposits Obol Testnets, a set of ongoing public incentivized testnets that enable any sized operator to test their deployment before serving for the Ethereum Main netSustainable Public GoodsObol is inspired by previous work on Ethereum public goods and experimenting with circular economics. We believe that to unlock innovation in staking use cases, a credibly neutral layer must exist for innovation to flow and evolve vertically. Without this layer, highly available uptime will continue to be a moat. The Obol Network will become an open, community-governed, self-sustaining project over the coming months and years. Together we will incentivize, build, and maintain distributed validator technology that makes public networks a more secure and resilient foundation to build on top of.As the Head of Legal at Obol Labs, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance and facilitating our business operations. You will work closely with our CEO, the General Counsel of the Obol Association and the business team, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of legal matters, including regulatory, securities law, data protection, commercial agreements, and employment law. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and team player, capable of thriving in a remote work setting while actively collaborating with a small, dedicated team.

Responsibilities

    • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, partnership agreements, and other contracts essential to our operations.
    • Conduct legal research to provide guidance on regulatory and securities law issues relevant to our business.
    • Collaborate with the business team to ensure compliance with data protection and privacy laws in relation to customer data and business operations.
    • Provide legal support in matters related to employment law, including contracts, policies, and workplace compliance.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal legal policies and procedures.
    • Stay up-to-date with developments in the legal and regulatory landscape that impact our industry.
    • Advice and collaborate with the People team with any legal employment advice needed.

Requirements

    • Law degree from an accredited university and a valid legal license.
    • 2-5 years of relevant legal experience, with exposure to regulatory, securities law, data protection, commercial agreements, and employment law.
    • A strong understanding of blockchain technology and the cryptocurrency ecosystem would be an asset but not essential.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
    • Proven ability to work independently in a remote work environment.
    • Collaborative mindset, enthusiastic about working in a small team.
