Who You Are:

As Corporate Counsel, you will join an experienced and collaborative Legal team to review, draft, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including vendor contracts, contracts supporting technology and Information Technology (IT) security, privacy matters, and other related assignments. You will work alongside and report into our Director, Corporate Counsel and have the opportunity to work on a myriad of legal issues with room for growth beyond the current scope of the role. The ideal hire should have three to five years of experience at a large law firm or combined law firm/in-house experience negotiating technology, IT and SaaS master services agreements, statements of work, and related documentation. In addition, Corporate Counsel candidate should have experience working with intellectual property (IP) and privacy matters.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a strategic legal advisor for Galaxy with respect to commercial vendor transactions;
  • Review, negotiate, and document various technology agreements, procurement and vendor contracts, which includes agreements pertaining to software (on prem and SaaS/cloud), outsourcing, hardware, systems, facilities, and professional/consulting services; and various other vendor commercial agreements to support services integral to the Galaxy ecosystem;
  • Issue-spot and appropriately escalate risks and concerns that may exist with technology agreements or vendor contracts;
  • Coordinate resources with respect to negotiations, including management of outside counsel engagement where appropriate;
  • Collaborate with other functional partners and businesses to ensure appropriate awareness and escalation of issues;
  • Advise on the accuracy and sufficiency of contractual documentation to effectively protect Galaxy interests;
  • Draft and negotiate non-disclosure agreements;
  • Oversee matters related to data, privacy, and security, and manage privacy compliance programs, including maintaining privacy policies.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts related to data sharing, software development and licensing matters.
  • Manage IP and brand protection matters.
  • Manage workflow in a highly dynamic and demanding environment while remaining highly responsive, reliable, communicative, and accountable to team leadership and other members of Galaxy; and

What We’re Looking For:

  • The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have meticulous attention to detail and a demonstrable ability to produce quality work product in a fast-paced, high-volume environment;
  • At least 3-5 years of transactional experience reviewing, advising on and drafting technology and other commercial vendor contracts, and working directly with technology, operations and procurement stakeholders;

Validator Engagement Specialist

What is Polygon Labs?Polygon Labs develops Ethereum scaling solutions for Polygon protocols. Polygon Labs engages with other ecosystem developers to help make available scalable, affordable, secure and sustainable blockchain infrastructure for Web3. Polygon Labs has initially developed a growing suite of protocols for developers to gain easy access to major scaling solutions, including layer 2s (zero-knowledge rollups and optimistic rollups), sidechains, hybrid chains, app-specific chains, enterprise chains, and data availability protocols. Scaling solutions that Polygon Labs initially developed have seen widespread adoption with tens of thousands of decentralized apps, unique addresses exceeding 225 million, over 1.2 million smart contracts created and 2.56 billion total transactions processed since inception. The existing Polygon network is home for some of the biggest Web3 projects, such as Aave, Uniswap, and OpenSea, and well-known enterprises, including Robinhood, Stripe and Adobe. Polygon Labs is carbon neutral with the goal of leading Web3 in becoming carbon negative.

Job Responsibilities

    • Clean up and expand official validator documentation.
    • Create narrative-driven tutorials/educational walk-through content.
    • Monitor/support Discord and other social media platforms (Twitter, Reddit, etc) for validator and infrastructure-specific questions.
    • Identify pain points for validators and alleviate them through better content and community knowledge-building.  Act as primary POC to ensure all Technical queries for Validator are solved.
    • Use community needs and feedback to help drive feature roadmap for validator client software.

Job Requirements

    • Experience with Linux systems & Very comfortable using command-line tools and utilities.
    • Ability to organise self and others.
    • Strong communication skills, oral and written.
    • Ability to decipher technical data and explain it in plain English.
    • Can prioritise workload and execute tasks accordingly and in line with industry best practices.

Good to have

    • Knowledge of DevOps/system administration/network infrastructure is a plus.
    • Knowledge of blockchain infrastructure, specifically proof of stake.
