About the Opportunity

Trust Machines is incubating a DeFi Lending app, and we’re looking for a Lead Engineer to join our remote-first team as the first dedicated Lending engineer. The Lending app is building the bleeding edge of Bitcoin DeFi, using novel smart contracting functionality on Bitcoin to deliver a 10x improvement on existing DeFi lending. This role will be critical in determining vision and direction, advising on and implementing technical design, and working with the team to develop a robust and long-term product. Here’s what you’ll do:

Collaborate with our core engineering team to architect a secure, decentralized, and highly-functional web3 lending app
Transition codebase from external engineering team, bringing development in-house and setting up operational processes for our new internal team
Partner with GM to build a team of dedicated engineers for Lending, while also collaborating with the broader Trust Machines engineering team
Help define the vision and direction for Lending and DeFi at Trust Machines
Own Lending product development, from ideation and design through deployment and operation

What we’re looking for:

This manager needs to have excellent technical intuition, decisions making abilities, and product collaboration skills to enable rapid and developer centric improvements to the Chainlink Functions product.You are the technical leader on all Chainlink Functions decisions and are supported by a strong team of engineers who have built Chainlink Functions from zero to our initial Beta launch. This candidate will be responsible for scaling the Chainlink Functions product to tens of thousands of Web3 developers and will be instrumental in delivery of an important and powerful product.

Your Impact

Lead a team of experienced engineers in building the general compute platform for blockchains.
Collaborate with product to define and plan feature roadmaps and execution.
Define product direction to take Chainlink Functions from Beta to an open product

Participate in the hiring and onboarding process to ensure we're bringing on high-quality engineers who fit our culture and requirements.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Experience managing the engineering and delivery of a product end to end. Customer empathy and a strong ability to balance product direction with engineering best practices.
Experience or knowledge of blockchain technology, Web3 protocols, and the challenges related to developing large, distributed systems.
An excellent communicator that is able to collaborate closely with internal and external partners on a broad range of technical and business topics
Servant leadership and a natural ability to inspire and motivate others
Ability to work on a globally-distributed team with a high degree of ownership
Experience coordinating technical stakeholders and making product decisions.

Preferred Requirements

Technical and/or product management experience on a blockchain project
Experience or interest in the blockchain or crypto space

Software Engineer II – Transpose

This role is to join the Transpose team. We’re an exciting new member of the Chainalysis family working to deliver cloud-platform style integrations that effortlessly enable startups, enterprises, and governments to build new products and tools powered by blockchain data. Transpose products power leading DeFi protocols, tax and compliance use-cases, and cutting-edge machine learning workloads. Our work also plays an important role for the wider Chainalysis family, who build industry-leading products that enable law enforcement agencies, the world’s largest cryptocurrency businesses, and major financial institutions to take down dark web marketplaces, prosecute child predators, and solve major cybercrime incidents like the Twitter Hack (yeah, we do all that!).

We measure success by how well we build components that are reusable and replaceable, reducing time to production, building tools that simplify data analysis,and fostering collaborative relationships across the company.

Responsibilities:

You’ll play a major role in building new categories of customer integrations (new APIs, data streaming solutions, event driven systems, etc.)
You’ll bring exciting new ideas and energy to the team, that we’ve gone on to integrate into building the future of Transpose
You’ll contribute to increasing the scalability and performance of our systems
You’ll solve complex problems with peers and stakeholders across the organization

Qualifications:

You’re an experienced Python developer
You are comfortable contributing to a code base with high code coverage standards
You are comfortable building backend ETL pipelines and services in a Cloud environment (AWS, GCP)
You have general knowledge of how blockchains work and core tenets of decentralized systems
You’re comfortable (or interested in) working with SQL databases
You have expertise in APIs, data streaming systems, and event-driven workflows
You’ve worked in an environment where you support the systems you put into production
You’re interested in distributed systems
You exemplify a high degree of pride in what you create, and ownership

Technologies we use (experience not required):

Experience in functional programming
Experience working with smart contracts, blockchain protocols, and the EVM
Experience working with Kafka
