Program Manager: Education

Are you an experienced program manager who is passionate about architecting and implementing technical education for world-changing technologies? Are you specifically excited about designing and operating a dynamic technical training program to help onboard a wide spectrum of developers to NEAR’s core technologies?

As NEAR’s Education Program Manager, you will work closely with community developers, new hires, contractors and our internal education/training teams to establish and operate a series of training and certification programs designed to onboard participants to the NEAR platform and its core technologies.  This starts with onboarding new hires, community contributors and consultancies through hands-on technical training but expands to include the whole spectrum of onboarding programs that help people find their way into the open arms of the NEAR ecosystem from any position.

In this role, you will be empowered to build out these programs by marshalling resources (internal, external and incentives for students) and you will be responsible for delivering effective, repeatable and outcome-oriented programs which help people onboard to NEAR.

To be successful, you’ll need to be very organized and tactical, employing strong strategic thinking and a good understanding of NEAR’s ecosystem. You should have demonstrated success in leading or building similar programs in the past but perhaps most importantly, you need to be familiar with the zeitgeist of the crypto space and how hands-on online education works. 

Logistics

This is a full-time, partially remote position with the NEAR Foundation located in Switzerland or Germany, where you should be able to commute to the office for a couple of days per week in Zug, Switzerland or Berlin, Germany. Candidates are eligible for relocation assistance but EU and Swiss citizens will be prioritized. Contractors from other countries may be possible but it’s not prioritized as highly as local participants.

Key Outcomes

  • Architect and implement programs which onboard new developers to the technology of NEAR, from deep core tech to the app development layer.
  • Set up certifications and badges which verify that participants have accomplished the goals of the programs
  • Work with the community team to make sure that ecosystem participants are aware of and engaged by these programs. 
  • Track progress and outcomes of these programs

Key Requirements

  • Technical education experience necessary. Blockchain experience strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of work experience in program management, product management and/or founding companies. Preference will be given to leaders who have architected and run similar programs before.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively while applying sound business judgment and quantitative analytics
  • Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally.  Also that rare combination of ability to communicate across many stakeholders, think strategically about crafting the program but also shepherd processes to their completion.

As NEAR’s Grants Program Manager, you will work closely with entrepreneurs and our internal teams to establish and operate a Grants Program that helps those building on NEAR to deliver amazing applications for the . As a core member of the NEAR Foundation, you will help to create buzz and distribute the word around our Grants Program. You’ll work with our marketing, community, and teams to source and fund high quality projects that deliver the best has to offer.

You will be empowered to build clear, repeatable systems for implementing, measuring, and scaling our Grants Program and play a key role in its distribution and governance. In short, you’re in charge of everything “Grants” at the NEAR Foundation, which is its most important function.

Are you an experienced educator and leader who is passionate about architecting and implementing broad-scale technical education for world-changing technologies?  Are you passionate about building a better internet with community-driven innovation using blockchains? Are you an experienced leader who is excited about designing and operating a large, multi-pronged educational effort which spans across dozens of stakeholders and potentially millions of individual developers around the world?

As the NEAR Foundation’s Head of Education, you will drive the implementation and strategy of the full ecosystem-level education effort. Some specific programs will live within the Foundation and others will be driven by participants from across the ecosystem so you’ll need to think creatively and draw upon a wide range of channels and stakeholders to help out.  You will build and manage the NF education team and work with Education Guilds and embedded educators within outside teams as well. 

Your mandate is large and there are considerable resources at your disposal.  As the Head of Education, you are ultimately responsible for crafting and delivering the outcomes of all of these programs to increase contribution to and usage of the NEAR platform.

To be successful, you’ll need to be a leader and a player-coach who can operate at the executive level, effectively as a founder and CEO of this unit within the NEAR Foundation.  You’ll need to be organized and tactical, employing strong strategic thinking and a good understanding of NEAR’s ecosystem. You should have demonstrated success in leading or building similar broad technical education efforts, for example at startups or open source projects offering developer-first products which require heavy community engagement and education programs in the past.  You should also be familiar with the zeitgeist of the crypto space and all the varied opportunities it uniquely provides to deliver and incentivize education.

Als Teil unseres Kernteams bist du gemeinsam mit den Entwicklerteams für innovative Embedded Engineering Projekte, z.B. aus den Bereichen Internet of Things (IoT), autonomes Fahren oder Robotics, verantwortlich. Du strukturierst die Projekte, definierst die Architekturen, planst die Meilensteine, führst dann die Entwicklerteams an und sorgst für einen guten Projektfortschritt. Intern nennen wir diese Rolle Project Owner, da du je nach Projektphase als ein Product Owner oder Project Manager agierst.

Deine Rolle

  • Du planst und strukturierst Embedded Engineering Projekte im R&D Bereich, schätzt die Arbeitsaufwände und Umfänge
  • Du entscheidest dich für Tech Stacks und Architekturen zusammen mit dem Tech Team
  • Du unterstützt in der Teamauswahl und bei den Technischen Interviews
  • Du führst Meetings mit Kunden durch und durch eine starke methodische Ausbildung (u.a. von uns), vertrittst die Interessen deiner Teams und von Motius
  • Du analysierst, was das jeweils Beste für die Produkte ist, die wir bauen und managest diese Anforderungen mit den verschiedenen Stakeholdern (Kunden, Entwicklerteams, Designer, etc.)
  • Du motivierst die Teams, stellst die richtigen Fragen, und holst dir die richtigen Leute für die richtigen Entscheidungen dazu

Dein Profil

  • Abschluss in Elektrotechnik, Informationstechnik, Maschinenbau, Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik, Informatik oder Vergleichbares
  • Einschlägige Erfahrung im Management von Embedded Engineering Projekten (Projektmanagement, Architekturen, Best Practices) und in der Produkt- und Prozessentwicklung
  • Du hast auch eigene Entwicklungserfahrung im Bereich Embedded Hardware (Design, PCB, Prototyping), Embedded Software (auf Mikrocontrollern oder Linux) und/oder im Bereich der Kommunikationstechnologien (RFID, WLAN, etc.) und interessiert dich für Open-Source / Open-Hardware
  • Du bist kreativ und entwickelst gerne neuartige Lösungen gemeinsam mit unseren Kunden oder proaktiv für neue Innovationsprojekte
  • Du übernimmst die Verantwortung für deine Ideen / deine Projekte und hast bereits in agilen Teams / Setups gearbeitet
  • Du kannst nach Bedarf zwischen dem 80/20 Arbeitsmodus und einem sorgfältigen / detaillierten Mindset switchen
  • Du hast eine hohe Kommunikationsstärke in Englisch und Deutsch in Wort & Schrift

Testing and Monitoring Associate

Role Description:

  • Design and build Anchorage’s independent compliance testing and monitoring program and framework.
  • Perform independent testing and monitoring activities across all Anchorage business lines, company operations, and compliance programs, including anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, conduct compliance, brokerage compliance, and SOC 1/2 compliance.
  • Identify control gaps and risks, develop mitigation plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to remediate identified issues.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders during external compliance assessments.
  • Present compliance reports and results of testing and monitoring to senior management.
  • Support Anchorage’s compliance team in providing regulatory and compliance best practice guidance and building a world-class compliance culture.

Qualifications:

  • You have years of experience working in compliance (ideally with a focus on audit and testing and monitoring programs). 
  • You possess strong organizational, critical thinking, project management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • You’re able to extract, aggregate, and disseminate insights from raw data.
  • You have a keen sense of risk and the ability to tailor compliance solutions for a technology startup. 
  • You self-describe as some combination of the following: creative, humble, ambitious, detail-oriented, hardworking, trustworthy, eager to learn, methodical, action-oriented, and tenacious. 

Bonus Points:

  • You have experience performing or facilitating external audits (SOX, SOC, ISO, AML, etc.) at a technology company.
  • You have compliance experience in banking, wealth management, or other highly regulated financial services.
  • You read blockchain protocol white papers for fun, and stay up to date with the proliferation of cryptoasset innovations.
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. 🙂
