As a key member of the Accounting team you will support our international offices in all financial and accounting matters including financial operations, financial reporting, managing local financial audits and ensuring we meet regulatory requirements around customer assets and capital requirements. In addition you will also provide important support to the US head office related to the global monthly close, US audits and be the go to person for all international accounting matters at the company.

What you’ll work on:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts for UK, Irish, Bermuda and Hong Kong Circle entities and accompanying variance analysis and report out to the US finance team.
• Manage international audit plans and act as key point of contact for local auditors. Ensure audits deadlines are met with no significant findings.
• Own the translation of US GAAP financial statements to local accounting standard requirements as required for the annual financial statements process. Create separate reporting entities in the accounting system to allow for historical system reporting of translated local accounts.
• Act as key accounting contact both internally and with regulators for international licenses including new license registration, E-money reconciliations and controls around safeguarding of customer monies.
• Work cross-functionally with other departments at Circle to help ensure optimal financial outcomes, mitigate risk and work on strategic initiatives including new product launches.
• Work with the FP&A team to support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for international locations.
• Perform cash flow forecasting for the various Circle international entities and ensure they are appropriately capitalized from both an operational and regulatory perspective by working closely with Circle’s Treasury team.
• Support operational needs of all Circle international entities as required including rollout of new finance systems being point of contact for local banks and setting up international banking payment instructions.
• Provide input on important aspects of the global monthly financial close and US audit process.
• Work closely with Circle’s tax team and tax advisors to manage local tax requirements of the UK and Irish entities including VAT returns, corporate tax returns and tax provision calculations.
• Manage fixed assets for the global group including accurate recording of net book values, depreciation and useful lives.

What you’ll bring to Circle:

• 8+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally from public accounting and some time working in a startup environment or for a technology company. 
• Experience preparing financial statements under FRS 102 (mandatory) and US GAAP (highly desirable).
• Experience managing audits autonomously, acting as the key point of contact and managing the end-to-end process.
• Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills to manage accounting workflows and execute on cross-functional projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with multinational companies including multi-currency and consolidation accounting.
• Ability to roll up sleeves on detailed work as needed as well as strategically manage workstreams.
• Excellent problem solving/analytical skills.
• Experience working in the payments industry or at a SaaS or Technology company would be highly sought after.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and subscription billing tools are a plus.

We’re looking for an accountant who is self-motivated, has an eye for detail and a customer first mindset to join our growing accounting team. You will ensure the accounts payable process is streamlined and accurate, our operating cash positions are reconciled and get valuable exposure to other areas of the accounting close. What you’ll work on

• Support the US and international accounts payable processes, ensure invoices are accurately recorded and approved vendor invoices are paid on time to provide the company’s internal and external stakeholders with a high level of service.
• Prepare inputs to monthly close including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and reconciling balance sheet and expense accounts.
• Complete weekly bank reconciliations for US, UK and Ireland operational bank accounts.
• Review Concur invoice and purchase order workflow on a daily basis to ensure invoice approvals are gathered, new vendors created and purchase orders issued.
• Prepare and perform weekly electronic payments runs (wires/ACHs) compiling all supporting documentation and distributing payment remittances to vendors.
• Support other aspects of the account payable process including preparing weekly bills registers, processing expense claims and preparing AP aging analysis.

As a Senior Product Analyst, you’ll join a data-driven risk team focused on helping Circle scale its products while providing the best possible customer experience and mitigating the associated risks. You will conduct in-depth analysis to draw insight around product improvements. Your contribution to our mission:

As a DLT / Blockchain expert, you will lead and oversee projects for the development of new technological solutions in the digital asset space, such as central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), tokenised securities (e.g. equities and bonds) and token-based payment systems. You will be helping to improve the functioning of the global financial system by providing technical leadership in developing the next generation of distributed platforms.

 

Your main responsibilities:

• Lead engineering and prototype development projects for digital assets of relevance to central banks, such as CBDCs, tokenised securities and token-based payment systems. This includes the design, build and deployment of ‘proof-of-concept’ DLT / Blockchain projects.
• Provide expertise on distributed computing, algorithms, cryptography, cybersecurity, consensus protocols and smart contracts.
• Analyse and select optimal design choices and technical configurations, while focussing on interoperability.
• Collaborate with other BISIH centres, central banks, international organisations and research community on these topics and related implications.
• Represent the BISIH at official meetings, industry and academic conferences and events.

 

What we are looking for:

• Academic qualification in computer science, engineering or another technology-related field
• Strong engineering or software development background
• Hands-on coding experience in one or more of the coding languages, e.g. Python, Java, C++, Scala, Go, Solidity, PHP
• Experience and deep knowledge of distributed ledger technologies (DLT), algorithms, cryptography and cybersecurity
• Track-record of design thinking, and effective project and resource management, from ideation to build

We are looking for an accountant who is self motivated, customer focused and has a passion for technology to join our rapidly growing accounting team and support one of the most critical elements of our business (our products and customers). You will be part of the building a new process from the ground up by helping to scale billing and accounts receivable for our newly launched product Circle Platform Services (CPS).  You will also assist with recording of revenue and assist with a key monthly reconciliation process that provides transparency over our industry leading stablecoin USDC to its thousands of users. This role will give you exposure to critical operational areas of accounting for an exciting suite of products that are being rapidly scaled, this experience will be invaluable to your development as an accounting professional.

What you’ll work on:

• Support the Accounts Receivable process for subscription billing, ensuring that customers are configured with the correct subscriptions, customer invoices are distributed in a timely manner and the various forms of payment are reconciled.
• Review the subscription billing tool workflow and ensure that any failed payments are followed up, incoming customer payments are matched off and that the tool is correctly syncing with the accounting system.
• Prepare bi-weekly AR Aging reports to distribute to cross-functional teams at the company and send account statements to customers for outstanding receivables.
• Ensure revenue recognition of Circle Platform Services activity and reconciliation of deferred revenue on subscriptions is in compliance with ASC 606 guidelines as part of the monthly financial close.
• Reconcile bank account weekly for incoming ACH and wire payments made from customers.
• Support the USDC reconciliation process, including reconciling minting and burning of tokens on the various blockchains to the balance of reserves held.
• Assist with the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, which includes the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly financial statements.
• Prepare reconciliations and supporting documentation for annual financial statement audits.
