What you’ll be responsible for:

The Compliance and Risk Testing Analyst is responsible for executing the testing program to evaluate the effectiveness of established company internal controls.  These controls apply to regulatory requirements and other non-compliance risk mitigation. The position will also assist the Regulatory and Compliance Risk Manager in conducting risk assessments.

What you’ll work on:

• Implement, and manage Circle’s Risk and Compliance Testing Program to assess compliance with internal processes, existing and/or new statutory and regulatory requirements, and the effectiveness of internal controls to mitigate risks. 
• Perform periodic testing in various sectors, such as anti-money laundering controls of Circle and any third parties upon which Circle relies for such compliance.
• Execute the testing segments of enterprise-wide risk assessments. 
• Contribute to the development of compliance testing methodologies to be utilized across the company.

• Finance, Economics, or Accounting degree preferred

As a senior leader on the Circle Platform Services team, you will manage teams that build and own scalable microservices that are responsible for reliable and secure APIs that transfer value & assets across all blockchain protocols (think Bitcoin and Ethereum, for example) as well as traditional banking protocols (think credit cards, bank transfers etc).

As an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Analyst, you’ll join our AML and Sanctions Team helping understand the risks posed by our customers at onboarding and throughout the lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, inquisitive individual with a background in AML compliance, who is extremely customer focused and enjoys solving problems.

What you will be working on:

• Conduct KYC onboarding of institutional customers, reviewing client documentation/information for sufficiency, accuracy and legitimacy.
• Conduct EDD reviews of high risk to determine the AML/sanctions risk posed to Circle by the customer and make recommendations on whether to retain high risk customers while achieving Circle’s mission. 
• Work with our institutional customers to help onboard their own customers.
• Identify red flags, suspicious activity, investigate patterns / typologies and work on appropriate solutions.
• Conduct sanctions, PEP, and adverse media checks.

What you’ll be responsible for: 

As a Manager of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), you’ll help oversee our AML and Sanctions Team, which is responsible for customer onboarding, and analyzing and reporting financial crime. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, inquisitive individual with a background in AML investigations, who is extremely customer and team focused.

What you will be working on:

• Managing a team of analysts in global locations.
• Oversee customer Know Your Customer (KYC) and onboarding and alert review processes including the documentation of policies, procedures.
• Identify areas of enhancement in the AML and sanctions program 
• Investigating, analyzing and identifying AML alerts which may lead to filing suspicious activity reports as required by law.
• Ensure the highest standards of documentation and quality in the execution of onboarding and transaction monitoring processes.
• Work closely with the Risk Product and Analytics team to ensure the transaction monitoring rules adequately cover all identified risks.
• Closely follow legal, compliance, and enforcement developments in the cryptocurrency industry to ensure our processes keep pace.
• Partner with Circle’s engineering and product teams to ensure the AML and sanctions program is supported with the most effective tools and technological support.

Circle is looking for an exceptional Controller to lead the accounting team on all matters financial reporting and financial operations. Areas of focus include corporate accounting, overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable, defining technical accounting policy positions, ensuring compliance with both US and international accounting standards and project managing financial statement audits for our consolidated multi-national and regulated business.

What you’ll work on: 

• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial closes to produce high quality entity level and consolidated financial statements including variance analysis for management review.
• Lead and scale a team to prepare Circle for the next phase of its growth.
• Key contact for six annual global financial statement audits, scoping out audit project plans to ensure requests are provided on time and audit deadlines are met.
• Oversee corporate accounting for the company including stock compensation accounting, equity and debt financing, M&A transactions and valuation analysis.
• Ensure Circle’s accounting policies around revenue recognition, digital assets and corporate matters are documented and in compliance with latest GAAP guidance.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations for customer and corporate cash, accrued expenses, prepayments, digital assets and intercompany activity are completed monthly to audit ready standard.
• Work cross-functionally with other departments at Circle to help ensure optimal financial outcomes, mitigate risk and work on strategic initiatives.
• Oversee procurement policy and accounts payable process to ensure vendors are onboarded, approvals and supporting documents collected and vendors are paid on time.
• Oversee accounts receivable and invoicing process for Circle API’s subscription billing, ensure customer payments are reconciled, failed payments are followed up and manage collections risk as needed.
• Support tax requirements of the company including inputs to tax provision, tax returns, sales tax and VAT, annual 1099 reporting and transfer pricing.
• Support the compliance function with Circle’s many financial license requirements via ensuring accurate financial reporting, capital adequacy and safeguarding customer funds.
