Who You Are:

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to support of Chief Operating Officer, Head of Trading, and CEO of Blue Fire Trading in Chicago. Responsibilities include managing calendars, liaising with vendors, managing the flow of information, and streamlining expense reports and other back-office tasks. You will also assist with managing office events, liaising with building facilities and maintaining the office. You are excited about contributing to the team’s success by solving problems, being collaborative, and demonstrating intellectual curiosity.

What You’ll Do:

  • Executive Assistant responsibilities for the COO, Head of Trading, and CEO of Blue Fire Trading, including managing calendars and scheduling meetings
  • Act as the main contact person for the office of the building regarding problems, repairs, improvements and the distribution of building events and notices to employee
  • Maintain inventory of office and kitchen supplies and replenish when needed
  • Coordinate with People’s Team to organize company events, activities, and lunches for Chicago office employees
  • Coordinate volunteer outings for Chicago office employees
  • Coordinate with IT for the setup of office and desk space for CH employees and other visitors
  • Greet Guests, distribute mail, maintain conference room calendar for all Chicago office employees and their guests
  • Log in visitors with security on building’s platform and request and program employee’s keycards in security system
  • Replenish refrigerator with water and soft drinks daily
  • Responsible for overnight deliveries with FedEx and UPS
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Assist with ad hoc admin requests

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of administrative experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Extensive MS Office knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Head of Treasury

The Optimism Foundation is hiring a Head of Treasury to oversee allocation and management of the OP token treasury and Foundation financials. This person will blend traditional finance and crypto knowledge to make strategic decisions about cultivating the Collective economy and governance. They will also be responsible for a team that owns the management, allocation, and reporting on Foundation and Collective financials. 

This is a unique leadership role at one of the most creative and forward-looking technology organizations working today. You’ll be expected to manage two main categories of work. The first is on traditional treasury and financial operations, to keep us compliant and organized. The second category of work is on capital deployment strategies and economic mechanism design, where we will rely on your strong foundation in economics, finance, and/or crypto to think of novel ways to achieve the Collective’s goals. 

You will:

  • Make recommendations to the Foundation’s leadership and board of directors on how to manage the economics of the Optimism ecosystem. 
  • Work alongside the DAO and protocol engineers to tune financial parameters of the protocol and guide decision making (such as on inflation parameters, sequencer revenue, and cross-layer working capital management)
  • Track, measure, and report on the efficacy of capital allocation strategies to guide decision making.
  • Support the design and execution of economic and social experiments including retroactive public goods funding and token airdrops.
  • Manage a small team responsible for financial operations, administration, reporting, and budgeting of the Foundation’s holdings in any currency.
  • Develop an understanding of international crypto laws and regulations in order to keep Optimism safe and efficient.

  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and excel at finding a clear path forward from conflicting inputs.
